'Confined Commodity' Confirmed

Apr 28 2013

Black Asterisk is pleased to announce a small exhibition by Victoria James, direct from her recent graduation show at Whitecliffe.

Victoria’s work looks at our relationship with nature through the urban garden. Seen as an extension of our stylised household interiors, elements of these humble household plots are stripped back to create minimalist still life with an almost scientific approach. Plain colour backgrounds reduce nature down to essential forms and texture, creating five studies of vibrant botanical beauty.

Each of the five works are presented as c-type prints mounted on Dibond aluminium, 500 x 500mm.

‘Confined Commodity’ is showing in the Asterisk’s 3rd room, to co-incide with Colin Luxton’s major exhibition ‘mute … mutter … mum’.

The preview is Thursday May 9 6.30pm, the show runs from Friday May 10 to Wednesday May 29.
