Curious Translation & Art Week Arrives

Oct 11 2013
'A Curious Translation' has opened to help us celebrate the art packed 10 days that is Art Week, and continues the rest of the month in our back room. A piece on Prue MacDougall's work from the journal Social Alternatives explained her prints operate like a stage "setting a scene that reflects her real life experience and exploring the dynamics of human relationships. Her intention when creating images is to recreate a significant moment in time as if glimpsed through a transformative lens, offering us fantastical visions from an amazing and magical world." Having recently returned to New Zealand, MacDougall will present a floor talk in the gallery at 1pm on Saturday October 19 on her work and experience as a winner of the Mini-Print International of Cadaques and exhibiting at IMPACT8 International Printmaking Conference in Scotland.
